The English Clinic
In a nutshell
30-minute 'consultations', either online or occupying a room at your workplace. The 30-minute meetings are organised in blocks of 5 (e.g. Wednesdays 9.00-11.30).
Benefits
For your company, a convenient (online or on-site, at a time of your choosing), inexpensive way of rewarding your beloved employees with the opportunity of improving their English. One-to-one focus, human interaction, open to all.
Price
Book a 2.5-hour block (example above) at a rate of 250 kr. per 30-minute session (1.500 kr. per block). Minimum four 2.5-hour blocks to be booked each time.
“So what do you offer in the sessions?”
Essentially, I’m making myself available for whatever the English need. The sessions are short (30 minutes) so more people have the opportunity to practise / learn / check / whatever:
“We already offer our employees English courses.”
This idea doesn’t aim to replace any English training you may already offer, though to some extent it can.
I’ve worked with 3 different language schools in Copenhagen, which is how I know this idea is both unique and a cost-effective alternative to what’s typically offered.
Naturally, I also offer the more standard, customised courses.
“What would you need from us?”
If choosing the on-site option: a room (with wifi access) that can be reserved for the whole 2.5-hour period, and perhaps the same room each time to make it easy for participants to find me.
We need a basic, user-friendly booking platform where people can reserve sessions in the schedule. It could be through your intranet, but I don’t want to make this more hassle for you. I’ve just been fiddling around with a booking app integrated into my website (not launched on the site yet). Seems to work, but it will need a little fine-tuning.
“And if we’re interested, what happens next?”
We arrange a coffee meet - to elaborate on / explain the idea, answer any questions you might have, and perhaps adapt it to your wishes. It would also be an opportunity to meet me face-to-face - hear my accent, get a sense of my personality.
Worth a chat? I certainly hope so. Message me on LinkedIn or email (gareth.prichard@gmail.com / g@speakenglish.dk), or just give me a call: 40988817.

- “I want to be more confident in my spoken / written English.”
- “Can we go through my presentation / email / report / SoMe post?”
- “My pronunciation is so Danish.”
- “Where the hell should I put commas?!”
- “I’d like some expressions typical of meetings / negotiations / presentations / customer service / telephoning / graphs & charts / emails / report writing….”
- “Can we look at some legal / financial / HR / marketing / industry-specific terminology?”
- “I spend too long writing emails.”
- “I need more words / a richer vocabulary.”
- “I feel my English is too formal / informal.”
- “I’m going on a business trip, so I need a little brush-up / fluency practice.” “I’m being transferred to the UK office.” “My daughter has an English boyfriend.”
- Some employees can be encouraged to attend if the company identifies a particular need.
- Some people might prefer to be together, or they have the same question related to their shared area of work. I suggest a maximum of 2 people per session (or maybe choose a different course structure).
- People can book back-to-back sessions, but I think this should be limited to two sessions at a time.
